The 2020 Camellia FEStivaL & Show

    The Coastal Georgia Camellia Society will kick off the 2020 Camellia Festival & Show by hosting a luncheon on Friday, February 21, 2020 in Isle of Hope. The Society will be honoring the legacy of Judge Arthur Solomon, Co-Founder of the American Camellia Society. The Camellia Show and Festival will take place Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens. The entry fee is $5.00 and includes access to the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens and all activities.


    The luncheon will be held at Grimball Oaks in Isle of Hope, the former home and garden of Judge Arthur Solomon, on Friday, February 21 at 11:30am. Don Waters, retired president and CEO of Brasseler USA and a member of the Board of Curators of the Georgia Historical Society, will highlight the life and legacy of Judge Arthur Solomon. 

    Luncheon tickets are $75.00 each, with table sponsorship opportunities at three giving levels:

    The following day, the Festival and Show will take place on Saturday, February 22. Members of the Coastal Georgia Camellia Society encourage everyone to enter their Camellia blooms into the competition. Participants can bring their blooms to the Andrews Center for entry between 7:30 am - 9:30 am Saturday morning.

    The Society will also have Camellia flower waxing demonstrations and air layering educational courses, as well as other Camellia specific activities.  Everyone is welcome to discover the beauty of Camellias and stroll through the Judge Solomon Camellia Trail.

    7:30 am - 9:30 am - Camellia show flower entry

    9:30 am - 11:45 am - Show closed for camellia judging

    12:00 pm - Prizes awarded

    12:00 pm - 5 pm - Show reopened to public

    2 pm - Educational courses on Air Layering and Camellia Flower Waxing

    4 pm -Educational course on Air Layering

    Saturday, February 22nd  will feature a Camellia Show and competition. Have you always wanted to share a bloom from that February masterpiece - that you KNOW is a Best in Show candidate!  Don't keep to yourself, bring your painting-worthy blooms, identified or not, and join the fun as we all get to revel in the unmatched variety of this incredible part of our floral culture!


    The Camellia Show will open at 7:30 am and you may drop off your beauties until 9:30 am.  Judging and Awards will follow.
