Don’t miss our next meeting, Sunday, October 11 at the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens. We will meet in the Bethel Bur-Ton Conference Center. 1:30 social and networking, meeting starts at 2pm.
Our speaker is Dr. Mike Denson, President of the Charleston Camellia Society. Mike will speak to us about "The Waywood Acres Garden Story, an evolution of horticultural hobbies."
A little insight into our speaker: Mike has always enjoyed growing, showing, hybridizing, and grafting plants. In fact, it’s a bit of an obsession. He has grown and competed over 250 rose bushes, >1000 daylilies, and currently has a relatively large vegetable garden (75 tomato plants) that occupies his time when it’s not camellia season. He has 400 camellias not including his seedlings, all in a neighborhood in Mount Pleasant SC. He will talk about his garden path, what he’s learned and how his interests have changed over time.
YOU don’t want to miss this!
